thoughts to ponder
i was reading a movie review in which the protagonist is said to be walking a thin line between good and evil…
that got me thinking…if apathy is the opposite of love, and they are worlds apart, how similar are good and evil to be separated only by that ‘thin line’?
how knife-edged is following God’s truth versus falling off the edge and into deception? it would SEEM that there would be quite some distance in between them, where the hapless oaf in question is taking specific steps toward his own destruction before diving off the edge of truth.
on the other hand, it seems as though the sin nature beckons quite loudly at times and off the ‘straight and narrow’ we go without much effort.
so, what do you think? knife edge thin? or great gaps of distance between opposites? or are they opposites? does one encompass and surround the other, overcoming the nature of evil with the nature of perfect love?
