off to the races
we’re emerging out of the frenetic pace of december and looking at a breath of rest as we head into january…ahhh, 2008, right?
not exactly. BFG and i were talking last night about how october ramped up to insanity and it has not let up yet.
recap:
october: filled with planning for ant natlee’s party, halloween party, the MNN better than life projects…
november: launch the month with the better than life concert tour, cd release and book. plan mom’s birthday party, host thanksgiving, cook multi-course meal for 10…
december: boss is out of the office with serious malady…launch the month with some fun christmas things, jump into running sound at church, and doing the snacks for the sunday school kids grades 2-5…do the christmas shopping, sending, etc. finish my poetry book. do christmas dinner for 8, keep house clean, catch up on laundry, travel to greenfield village for christmas, and collapse at home. a quiet christmas day in which BFG and i do almost nothing (except 7 loads of laundry, ironing and dishes).
january: boss heads out of town to russia for 11 days, i go to kenya for 11 days…come home. collapse. i’m really, really hoping for february to slow down a bit. just want to catch my breath and get in front of the 8-ball instead of behind it.
might be that the plane ride to kenya will be enforced inactivity and watching inane television sitcoms for about 18 hours. guilty pleasures…
